Snow Hill Medical Center earns mammography accreditation

Snow Hill Medical Center earns mammography accreditation

The American College of Radiology (ACR)  recently awarded a three-year mammography accreditation to Snow Hill Medical Center.

The ACR gold seal of accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety.

Only facilities that meet ACR Practice Parameters and Technical Standards receive accreditation.

ACR evaluators consider image quality, personnel qualifications, adequacy of facility equipment, quality control procedures and quality assurance programs during the review.

Greene County Health Care recently used funds from Health Center Quality Improvement Awards from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to help buy a new mammography unit – the Hologic Selenia 2D mammography unit.

GCHC is a community health center with sites in Greene, Pitt and Pamlico counties. The community health center sites provide medical, dental and behavioral health, and offer care on a sliding fee scale for qualifying patients.
