Mammograms
A mammogram is a test – primarily for women – that uses images to check for anything abnormal about in the breast tissue. The test is used primarily to diagnose breast cancer. We offer this service using an ACR-certified 2D Mammography unit at our 1106 Kingold Boulevard site in Snow Hill. Talk to your primary care provider about your risk of breast cancer and the best screening schedule for you. We also offer referrals for the treatment of breast cancer.
What Can I Expect During a Mammogram?
A certified mammogram technologist will escort you to our radiology area.
The process may be uncomfortable, but is generally not painful.
We will take four images - two from different angles of each breast.
We will call you with the results of your mammogram once a radiologist has read the test.
Patient Forms
Patients should bring a list of current medications, their insurance card and pre-completed Patient Forms with them to their first visit.
