Dr. Murphy earned her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from East Carolina University (ECU) in Greenville, N.C., and her medical degree from the Brody School of Medicine, also at ECU. She completed her internship in internal medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, S.C., and her residency in internal medicine at the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA.
